Deputy Nursery Manager
Salary – TBC
40 hours – Monday to Friday

We are currently looking for a reliable Deputy Nursery Manager to support the Nursery Manager, to provide professional leadership and ensure that this nursery runs effectively each day. You’ll become a key part of the nursery’s internal structure with the opportunity to strengthen both your leadership and management skills.

Role:

• Assist the Nursery Manager with the effective day-to-day management of the nursery.
• Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education to all children in our car
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery, holding overall responsibility for the day to day running of the nursery and management of safeguarding and child protection policies – monitoring and improving practice and behaviours that underpin our high-performance safety culture
• Ensure that all children attending the nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.
• Develop open and positive working relationships with team.
• Support, supervise, train, and appraise all staff to ensure delivery of high-quality childcare practice.
• Support the Nursery Manager to identify training needs; develop training plans and evaluate training undertaken by staff.
• Assist the Nursery Manager in delivering agreed occupancy targets.
• Promote the nursery to both current parents, and potential customers, to support retention and ongoing occupancy growth
• Maintain effective methods of communication with children, staff, parents, and carers.
• Assist the Nursery Manager in ensuring that all complaints and concerns are actively resolved in a timely manner and that these are reported to the Regional Manager.
• Engage with the Local Authority to understand the local offer, to support practice in all areas of the nursery
What we’re looking for
• Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
• Experience within an Early Years leadership role (ideally as a Deputy Manager or Head of Room)
• Experience of participating with a regulatory inspection, leading to a “Good” or “Outstanding” outcome
• Experience of developing high performance teams, with effective regulatory compliance, quality improvement, delivery of high-quality pedagogy, innovation and service excellence
• Confident decision maker, with ability to support change and the understanding of the complex relationship between business/commerce and service excellence within a regulated setting
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
• Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with colleagues, parents and external partners
