Deputy Nursery Manager
Salary – TBC
40 hours Monday to Friday
We are currently looking for a reliable Deputy Nursery Manager to support the Nursery Manager, to provide professional leadership and ensure that this nursery runs effectively each day. Youll become a key part of the nurserys internal structure with the opportunity to strengthen both your leadership and management skills.
Role:
Assist the Nursery Manager with the effective day-to-day management of the nursery.
Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education to all children in our car
Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery, holding overall responsibility for the day to day running of the nursery and management of safeguarding and child protection policies – monitoring and improving practice and behaviours that underpin our high-performance safety culture
Ensure that all children attending the nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.
Develop open and positive working relationships with team.
Support, supervise, train, and appraise all staff to ensure delivery of high-quality childcare practice.
Support the Nursery Manager to identify training needs; develop training plans and evaluate training undertaken by staff.
Assist the Nursery Manager in delivering agreed occupancy targets.
Promote the nursery to both current parents, and potential customers, to support retention and ongoing occupancy growth
Maintain effective methods of communication with children, staff, parents, and carers.
Assist the Nursery Manager in ensuring that all complaints and concerns are actively resolved in a timely manner and that these are reported to the Regional Manager.
Engage with the Local Authority to understand the local offer, to support practice in all areas of the nursery
What were looking for
Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
Experience within an Early Years leadership role (ideally as a Deputy Manager or Head of Room)
Experience of participating with a regulatory inspection, leading to a Good or Outstanding outcome
Experience of developing high performance teams, with effective regulatory compliance, quality improvement, delivery of high-quality pedagogy, innovation and service excellence
Confident decision maker, with ability to support change and the understanding of the complex relationship between business/commerce and service excellence within a regulated setting
Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with colleagues, parents and external partners
