When it comes to Early Years recruitment overall, safeguarding is uppermost in our minds. That means ensuring that all candidates for roles undergo a criminal record check (DBS), barred list check and probation check. Those who are applying for Early Years teaching roles will undergo a further check to ensure they aren’t disqualified from teaching.
Rest-assured we also collect and double check references given at interview, together with an individual’s qualifications and, if not a UK citizen, their right to work in this country.
The majority of these checks are required as part of the safeguarding and welfare requirements found in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It states that adults caring for children must be competent enough to supervise children and keep them safe, as well as being able to meet their needs.
